CNC Programmer and Setup Operator #2

Work with customer supplied drawings and CAD files utilizing CAM and CAD software to 3, 4 and 5 Axis Machining Programs. Setup and monitor machining centers. Verify parts meet specifications.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Setup and Program CNC Milling Machines

· Create CNC Programs for 3, 4 and 5 Axis Machining Centers

· Develop and produce machined part fixtures

· Read and Understand mechanical drawings, including drawings utilizing GD&T

· Read and edit Machine G-Code

· Utilize CAD and CAM software for part production and verification

· Monitor production machines and make adjustments as necessary

· Through use of inspection tools verify products meets drawing specifications

· Provide Machining Cycle times

· Full Time, Permanent

· Hourly 40 Hours per week, overtime if required

· Start date: Immediate

Environment

· Fast paced environment, tight deadlines

· Lift up to 50 Lbs

· Use of Personal Protective Equipment Required

· May require standing for long periods of time

· Work in a non-airconditioned environment

Experience, Education and Qualifications

· High School diploma or equivalent

· Minimum 5 years experience setting up 3, 4, 5 Axis machining centers

· Minimum 3 Years experience with CAM software programming for 3, 4 and 5 Axis Machines

· Minimum 3 years experience with CAD software

· Must be Canadian citizen or permanent resident

· Clear criminal record check and Canadian Controlled Goods assessment required

Ideal Candidate

· Strong CAM software experience with newest versions of GibbsCAM or MasterCAM

· Strong experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD package

· Strong knowledge of machining tooling, part fixturing and efficient production machining processes

· Experience machining most common metal types and some plastics

· Experience producing high precision parts

· Good knowledge of GD&T

· Experience working in an AS9100 registered company an asset

· Experience setting up or programming for CNC Lathes an asset

· Good verbal and written communication skills, effective interpersonal skills

· Team player and flexible

· Excellent Attention to detail

Salary: $26.00 to $32.00 /hour
