EpLink is the Epilepsy Research Program of the Ontario Brain Institute. We are an epilepsy research program focused on finding new ways to diagnose, treat and improve the lives of people living with drug-resistant epilepsy. Our program is funded by the Ontario Brain Institute and aims to bring health innovations directly to the epilepsy community.
As a Technical Analyst I, responsibilities will include: coding, testing, debugging and documenting programs; installing, upgrading and testing system software upgrades; providing and maintaining various security and access controls; determining which applications and data stores need to share information; coordinating with users to determine requirements/specifications; providing programming and operations support for ERP solutions; resolving issues regarding operations, including installations, setups, error messages, on-line transactions, system status, and downtime procedures, etc.; performing workstation and server administration setup; coordinating disk space planning and management; performing data back ups and recoveries, maintaining tape libraries, maintaining software and hardware inventories; assisting in the development and maintenance of databases; recommending hardware and software purchases and upgrades; advising/liaising with other system areas on technical database-related issues.
- At minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Engineering, and or a related field
- At minimum 1 year related experience
- Experience developing queries in SQL
- Database and data system experience, knowledge of RedCap is an asset
- Knowledge, interest, or experience in molecular biology
- Significant experience with Shell scripts, Python, Perl or R
- Practical experience with version control tools (e.g. git)
- Experience in and understanding of data and information management is critical
- Strong interpersonal skills to enable success to work with internal team members and external stakeholders
- Basic understanding of statistics, preferred
