Major Responsibilities:

Summary of the Position

The Commercial and Technical Sales, Sr. Account Manager is a member of the company’s sales team. This position is responsible for the direction and management of all sales and business development, including pricing, distribution, and channel strategy. This position includes responsibility for business development, technical support for customers, and marketing initiatives. The position will be responsible for the budget goals.

Key Deliverables

· Successfully meet sales and margin objectives

· Develop and implement the sales and marketing strategy

· Effective management of Wholesale manufacturing Rep Agencies

– Strategy building

– Develop sales target and objectives

– Quarterly performance reviews

· Develop and manage relationships with the key customers

· Actively participate and contribute at national/local trade shows and conferences

· Provide monthly forecast by Product Group

· Accurately reporting business conditions to HPG management

Key Accountability Metrics

  • Top line sales performance against monthly/quarterly/yearly sales targets
  • Standard margin performance against monthly/quarterly/yearly margin targets
  • Support of Channel initiatives with dotted line responsibility to Wholesale, OEM, & SpecGas teams
  • Market share gains verses prior year

Sales and Marketing 70%

Technical Development 30%

· Work with sales, marketing and operations team developing technical application solutions to the end-user customers

· Demonstrate brazing, welding and cutting applications to the distribution and end-user customers

· Implement Cost Reduction Programs to the end user customers

Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions

  • Works safely and supports safety within their team across the organization – As required.
  • Be a role model for the company culture
  • Establish training, and sales incentive programs
  • Drive the development of the national sales strategies
  • Work closely with Channel managers to develop strategies globally
  • Drive the company’s achievement of its customer acquisition and revenue goals
  • Work closely with Director of Marketing to develop, establish, and direct channel and distribution strategies and programs
  • Establish and maintain key customer relationships and develop and implement strategies for expanding the company’s customer base
  • Exceed customer expectations and contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Develop lead generation and revenue generation programs
  • Provide detailed and accurate sales forecast data for revenue and operations planning
  • Manage overall sales process, set appropriate metrics for sales dashboard management
  • Help develop pricing policies, including volume discounts and terms and conditions, for high-profile customers and channel partners
  • Travel for in-person meetings with customers and partners and to develop key relationships

Minimum Education, Experience and Training Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

Required – 5+ years sales experience in comparable industry, with 3 years in a medium sales management position. Administration, engineering or equivalent degree with a MBA specialization in sales, administration or marketing or other relevant field

Preferred – 10+ years sales experience in comparable industry, with 5+ years in a senior management position. Administration, engineering or equivalent degree with a MBA specialization in sales and marketing; sales management within a manufacturing environment

Travel requirements:

Up to 60% of the time, may include US or other international travel
