Restaurant General Manager #2

Position Summary: General Managers take pride in their stores, teams and operations. Working in unison with the culinary team and front of house managers they offer superior leadership and development skills to ensure their restaurant is performing at its peak potential. Outside of their restaurants, they build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the community to establish brand presence and marketing opportunities. Our GM’s have a self-motivated, proactive approach when it comes to driving their business to success.

Key Responsibilities:

o Leading by example, offering a hands-on management style with strong leadership skills

o Inspiring, motivating and encouraging all associates to perform to their potential

o Monthly scheduling for all salaried positions that maximizes store performance while maintaining a work/life balance for each team member

o Increasing brand awareness in the community through events and local store marketing

o Building partnerships with key stakeholders to promote brand awareness in the neighbourhood

o Consistently leads weekly management meetings to align and action store goals

o Dedication to management leadership performance evaluations

o Ensure operations function as efficiently as possible to maximize a positive dining experience for guests while balancing a strong return to the company

o Ongoing training and development for staff at all levels

o Scheduling and inventory management controls in corresponding software programs

o Ensuring store consistently operates according to brand systems and standards

o Instilling a ‘promote from within’ culture to build retention

o Routine walkthrough of building including exterior structure to address cleanliness, repair and maintenance requirements

o Responding and actioning guest communications in store, online or otherwise

o Collaborates with Chef and their culinary team to ensure food quality and timing standards are consistently adhered to

o Developing and delivering on sales drivers and employee engagement practices to build product knowledge while enhancing company profits

o Maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all of our salaried and hourly associates

o Strong floor presence to build rapport with guests while assisting hourly associates with daily operations

Education & Qualifications:

o Minimum 2+ years previous experience in a restaurant General Management position

o Intermediate computer skills in MS office (word, excel)

o Demonstrates ability to multi-task and problem solve under pressure

o Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as business dictates

o Food Handlers Certification, Health & Safety Management and Smart Serve Certified

o Subject matter expert on ESA and Human Rights Laws in Ontario

  • WSET certification considered an asset
