Position Summary:
Michener offers a range of full and part time health science programming as well as a suite of online, hybrid, and workshop-based learning through Continuing Education Reporting to the Associate Head of Academic Affairs, the Manager plays an essential role in overseeing the development, delivery, maintenance, and overall business management, of a suite of programs. This position, specifically, is seeking a detail-oriented and creative professional to lead both new and existing programming.
The Manager will have broad accountability for program management, including continuous quality improvement, new program development, including related micro-credentials, staffing, student/learner success, and budget.
The Manager will also be expected to ensure exceptional student experience, and will, on occasion, be required to support students requiring remediation, or facilitate academic appeal processes for specific course offerings.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage program operations for both full and part time programs,
- Lead new program development
- Assess feasibility of new programs, markets, and partnerships
- Human resource accountability for faculty, instructors, and tutors
- Facilitate annual quality program and quality review in collaboration with program faculty
- Leading faculty in ongoing curriculum development
- Participate in program recruitment activities
- Ensure students/learners are supported for optimal success
- Liaison with employers, practicum sites and community professionals
- Manage and oversee program budgets, and ensure targets are being met as planned
- Contribute to Michener’s strategic growth
Position Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree, Masters degree preferred
- A health professions background is a strong asset, but not required
- Experience in undergraduate education / teaching or clinical education
- Experience in new program / curriculum development is an asset
- 5-7 years experience in a supervisory role
- Detail oriented, and strong ability to prioritize work
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proficiency with MS Office, especially Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams
