Registered Nurse- Lead Supervisor
We are looking for a Lead Supervisor to join our Home Support team to cover a maternity leave.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm and a on call rotation
Travel: Potential travel for home visits may be required within York Region.
Reporting to the Client Services Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for modified work case
coordination (WSIB), education planning (clinical), overall management and functioning of Home
Support, Client Care Supervisor (CCS) services.
Modified Work Case Coordination:
- Contacts the employee to inform them of the Modified Work Program
- Reviews accident history and follows up with supervisor, employee and client to ensure accurate information has been provided
- Reviews and follows up with supervisors to ensure timely, appropriate accident investigations and follow through on corrective action has been taken
- Works with employee to assess restrictions and/or limitations
- Informs the supervisor/manager of the work restrictions/limitations and identifies jobs the employee is capable of performing
- Assess the employee’s work capabilities in conjunction with medically-supported restrictions and/or limitations provided by the appropriate health care provider(s)
- Contacts health care provider(s) to clarify physical capabilities if necessary
- Contacts WSIB when necessary to clarify physical restrictions a
- Maintains regular contact with the employee, supervisor/manager and the WSIB for the
- duration of the Modified Work Program until the employee has returned to full regular duties
- Provides ongoing assessment of the Modified Work Plan and the employees successful transition to full regular duties or permanent accommodated work
- Participate as a Certified Member of the JHSC
Supervisory Duties:
- Work closely with Client Services Manager and the Human Resources Manager to develop and
- education plan and training material with a focus on Personal Support Workers
- Conduct PSW Mandatory Company Orientations – reviewing and updating the content as
- necessary
- Participate in clinical on-call rotation
- Act as Supervisor of the Day
- Accurately monitor, track and follow-up on all occurrences, QRS and ETMS data
- Provide back-up CCS coverage during CCS vacation/sick time
QUALIFICATION
- Registration with CNO in good standing
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree in Registered Nursing
- Extensive knowledge and experience providing nursing care to medically complex clients
- Service requirements include:
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proof of Auto Insurance
- N95 Mask Fit Test
- CPR and First Aid
- Chest X-ray or Mantoux Test (within the past two (2) years)
- Vulnerable Sector Police Screening (within the past three (3) years)
- Coaching, mentoring and developing people to achieve a “safety first” culture
- Results orientated, able to work as part of a multi-functional team and/or independently as needed
- Strong organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Computer knowledge of MS Office, Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint
- Commitment to providing the highest level of customer service and client care
- Knowledgeable in Health & Safety and WSIB principles and practices
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Attention to detail; Lift and carry using appropriate lifting techniques up to fifty (50) lbs; Bend, push, pull, grip, reach, kneel, crouch using good body mechanics; Walk, sit, stand, climb stairs; use of elevators.
