Overview
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for employee relations, performance management, facilitation, special projects, and best practice improvements.
Job Description
Facilitate the resolution of employee relation issues, and workplace harassment by investigating, resolving and tracking complaints, evaluating and recommending possible courses of action, and providing advice, guidance and direction for quick resolution;
Conduct regular store visits to address store morale and to establish and maintain a positive and engaging work environment;
Conduct manager and associate training on performance evaluation process and provide guidance and support on the PE process. Assist with reporting and analysis on completions as required;
Work with Managers to ensure job descriptions are up to date. Assist with documentation updates if required;
Answer questions from associates on company policies and procedures. Provide advice on policy changes and matters not currently covered by policies;
Partner with the Talent Acquisition Specialist to ensure full support throughout the associate life cycle with regards to the core HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, retention, and succession planning.
Experience/Knowledge Required:
5+ years previous experience in Human Resources, with a focus on employee relations and performance management;
College/University degree or equivalent in Human Resources, working towards CHRP would be considered an asset;
Knowledge of provincial Employment Standards, Human Rights legislation, Workers Compensation and Health and Safety legislation;
Valid driver’s license and driving record within provincial guidelines;
Proficient MS Office computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc.)
Valid Ontario “G” License with clean driver’s abstract for a minimum of three years
Travel Requirements:
Travel required (store visits in ON)
