The Home Help Worker provides home help services for seniors/disabled who are unable to do this work themselves. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support services in clients’ homes; housekeeping duties include vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, washing floors, cleaning toilet and bathtub, sink, stove, fridge, laundry, washing dishes, help with preparing meals, making beds wrap and disposing of garbage;
  • Clean internal windows surface that are within hand reach;
  • Perform grocery shopping (with a limit 10 pounds) on behalf of clients as specified;
  • Escort clients to medical appointments, banking, and for walks and provide companionship for a warm and friendly atmosphere as specified.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • High School Certificate;
  • Minimum six months to 1 year related experience in direct service delivery to seniors;
  • Experience supporting individuals with disabilities;

  • Personable with cultural awareness and ability to build relationships with clients in a multicultural environment;
  • Ability to organize, manage and prioritize work in an efficient manner and meet deadlines;
  • Ability to support and work co-operatively with all team members and achieve the goals and objectives of the agency;
  • Ability to resolve problems and concerns of staff, clients, caregivers and other issues affecting the effective operation of the organization.
