Head Bartender #2

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a Head barman to lead and setup the beverage program of a new upmarket restaurant opening with a strong food program consisting of an afternoon tea service and tasting menu in the evenings.

Minimum 3-year experience is required in similar role with relevant experience. Required knowledge and experience in mixology, classic and modern cocktail blending, wine, barista, recipes writing, costing, inventory, training and leading a team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate daily Bar setup
  • Ordering, Inventory, Costings, setting par levels
  • Deliver superior service and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Respond efficiently and accurately to customer complaints
  • Regularly review product quality and research new vendors and products
  • Organize and supervise shifts
  • Appraise staff performance and provide feedback to improve productivity
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations
  • Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste
  • Create reports, hold briefings.
  • Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and restaurant events
  • Train new and current employees on proper customer service practices
  • Implement policies and protocols that will maintain future restaurant operations

Qualifications and education requirements

  • 3+ years of hospitality-related experience
  • 1+ years of Bar manager or leadership experience

Job Duties:

  • Provide excellent customer service by taking orders, preparing them efficiently, and building a rapport with clientele
  • Handle card and cash transactions, ensuring that all funds in the cash drawer are accounted for by the end of the shift
  • Keep an eye on patron intoxication levels and respond appropriately
  • Identify belligerent customers, and work with management when needed to maintain a safe environment
  • Clean the bar and the surrounding area of spills and other messes as needed
