About Nett: Nett Technologies Inc., a leading manufacturer of engine emission control systems has an immediate opening for an Engineering Manager. The company designs and manufactures a full range of exhaust after-treatment emission control products for OE and aftermarket diesel, LPG, gasoline and natural gas engines.

The Company requires an energetic, motivated, and career-minded Engineering Manager, to lead a team of mechanical design engineers to execute our growth strategy. The position will employ a range of engineering skills related to internal combustion engines and emission control products applied in processes to design and shape new products for a variety of applications. Working closely with the business development team, the Engineering Manager will plan, assign and manage the design engineering department to deliver value solutions to our clients. The Engineering Manager will fully participate in strategic planning and align all related development processes to ensure regulatory, industry, and client requirements are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with VP Operations in the new product design area
  • Plan, execute, and direct design projects from concept through to manufacturing
  • Responsible for design scope, developing and implementing assignment schedules, budgets, and timely reporting on assigned design projects
  • Hire, direct and coordinate the work of the internal design team
  • Maintain and improve the design database (PDM)
  • Interact with other internal departments to ensure compliance with project commitments
  • Manage the personal development of the internal design engineers
  • Monitor assigned project costing, progress, and quality of work
  • Update and improve designs of existing products when appropriate
  • Ensure technical reviews and compliance of design engineering with Quality Management Systems to maintain and improve high-quality deliverables to our clients

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BSc, B.E. or M.E. in Mechanical Engineering
  • P. Eng. designation preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a design/manufacturing environment
  • Solid business experience in sheet metal fabrication/design
  • Must have advanced 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks)
  • Strong understanding of modern engineering principles (manufacturability of components, cost analysis, stress analysis) to continuously improve the efficiency of manufacturing processes
  • Proven planning and organizational capabilities
  • Team builder skills
  • Proven multi-tasking skills with the ability to meet demanding schedules and deadlines
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience
  • Excellent English communication skills

Additional Preferred Competencies:

  • Experience with SolidWorks Flow Simulation or other CFD software
  • Experience in one or more of the following industries: manufacturing, automotive, diesel/LPG engines, exhaust systems, gen-sets, construction equipment, mining
  • Good understanding of internal combustion engine principles of operation
  • Exposure to and manufacturing knowledge of engine exhaust emission control products
  • Exposure to and knowledge of tool and die design
  • Exposure to and knowledge of process and manufacturing automation
