Job Title: COVID-19 Vaccine Clinic Clerk (10 positions)
Department: Mobile Vaccine Clinics

Location: Various clinic locations, on-site mobile clinics, in-home vaccine administration (e.g., homes, apartment buildings, etc.)

Reports to: Operations Manager, equivalent, or designate

Hours: Hours and days of work will vary depending on operational requirements. Hours of work may include day, evening, and weekend shifts. Minimum hours of work are not guaranteed; Shifts can be 6-12 hours.

Wage Rate: $22/hour

Status: Casual, Temporary Part Time (3 months with opportunity for extension)

Vaccine Clinic Clerks to provide various administrative/non-clinical supports to the vaccine clinic team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to our COVID-19 response and to work in a multidisciplinary team. The Vaccine Clinic Clerk’s main responsibility will continue to be for the collection and documentation of client information at mobile vaccine clinic locations outside the hospital.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate client check-in by greeting clients, collecting and reporting relevant data and using the COVaxON Vaccination Management System
  • Provide general customer service by responding to inquires related to the vaccination process and escalating issues as required
  • Assist with client and clinic flow to ensure efficient and effective care in a confidential atmosphere
  • Facilitate client check-out and provide receipts of vaccination
  • Perform all duties under the direction of the Operations Manager, equivalent, or designate and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Abide by all applicable legislation and organizational policies, including but not limited to, privacy legislation and policies, health and safety regulations, and infection control practices
  • Perform other duties, as required
  • Work in alignment with the vision, mission, goals, and values of the organization
  • Must be diligent in the accuracy of information being recorded using COVaxON

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent
  • Experience in a health care, patient relations, or customer service environment is an asset
  • Completion of mandatory job training and orientation
  • Experience using the COVaxON Vaccination Management System is an asset

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to read and write English
  • Ability to speak languages in addition to English is an asset
  • Experience working with persons with special needs is an asset
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to overcome obstacles that may arise within the team
  • Excellent knowledgeable and understanding on how to use different modes of technology to communicate (e.g. MS Teams, Zoom, etc.)

Special Requirements

  • Must provide own transportation and be able to travel throughout organization’s catchment area, as assigned
  • Ideal candidates should be able to stand and be on their feet for extended periods of time
  • Occasional work outdoors will be required
