Job Summary
The Corporate Loss Prevention & Control Manageris a key management role within CMI. The Loss Prevention & Control Manager leads the effort to provide security services and asset protection (such as lives, buildings, equipment, inventory, data, & intellectual property) efficiently and effectively within the company. The Loss Prevention & Control Managerreports to the site General Manager and aids them in supporting the Operations team, and the cross functional teams throughout the organization.
Duties:
- Responsible for planning and directing the safety standards for our employees, investigations, operational standards, training, and LP budget in assigned market(s)
- Organizing, developing, and delivering Loss Prevention training
- Responsible for managing security vendors and contract guards
- Responsible for working with yards to identify inventory shortage opportunities and recommending resolutions
- Assessing needs to ensure Loss Prevention resources are being properly deployed
- Conducting investigations and interviews as they relate to violations of company policies and procedures; working with the authorities where required
- Proactively monitoring controls to identify employee theft and training managers to do same
- Training employees to handle altercations and confrontations with customers and between customers in the yards
- Training employees and managers to handle potential “hold-up” situations
- Supervising and working with a team to create a safe work environment in the yards
- Dealing with the authorities and assisting them with their investigations in all aspects that involve our facilities or company
- Assisting in the creation of action plans to achieve operational compliance
- Offering recommendations and solutions in crisis situations such as workplace violence and active threats
- Enhancing, tracking, and reporting on metrics which are key performance indicators, allowing performance improvements so that the desired outcomes are achieved to plan and in a timely manner
- Working for periods of time at a desk on a computer
- Ensuring internal controls are fulfilled
- Inspiring performance excellence on the part of all security services team members
- Ensuring that you understand the visions and values of the organization and their department to clearly articulate and align performance and actions
- Meeting or surpassing your objectives that align with the security service model
- Identifying, promoting, and implementing security best practices in a designated site
- Serving as the department’s liaison and security subject matter expert for facility management keeping them abreast of key issues, strategies, and the department’s performance
- Effectively partnering with internal customers in evaluating the current and future security services, processes, and initiatives
- Providing oversight and implementing controls related to on-site cash management
Requirements:
- 1-3 years of management experience in protective security
- Experience with Industrial loss prevention management is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent are required
- Experience in security services, asset protection, audit, risk management, inventory control, quality assurance, or another related field is required
- Awareness and implementation of best practices related to the utilization of physical security systems, investigation techniques, effective oversight of contract security officers, and loss mitigation techniques
- Experience as a liaison with external security service providers
- Demonstrated ability to manage video surveillance equipment
- Proficient with MS Office, including intermediate knowledge of Excel
- Able to work in an industrial environment that requires walking up to 5 km a day and ability to lift up to 20 lbs
- Excellent communication, written and verbal
- Excellent delegation and follow-up skill
- Loss Prevention investigation and interview experience
- Excellent time management and ability to prioritize skills
- Basic knowledge of computer applications
- The ability to speak in front of groups
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment
- Analytical experience in performance based, action and results oriented setting
- Must be flexible to work weekends and/or overnight shifts as necessary
- Must be able to work for periods of time at a desk on a computer
- Workplace Violence and/or Business Continuity experience
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with off-site supervision
