Up scale restaurant seeks the service of a Chef with experience in a normally fast-paced organization catering to a diverse clientele. The successful candidate will have at least three years of full time experience after some apprenticeship. Job is full time in setting with bar, restaurant, café and bistro, and a formal dining.
A wage of $18.25 per hour for forty hours per week is offered, with statutory deductions made from a biweekly remuneration. Two days off per week and vacation of two weeks after one year of service. If overtime is required the rate is 1.5 times regular wage, with commensurate statutory deduction.
The position calls for a person with three to five years of experience as a chef preparing a variety of menus preferable of Italian cuisine but with some Caribbean cuisine knowledge and skills. Must be able to work under pressure with attention to detail, flexible, reliable and be able to use initiative with respect to presentation. Certification of Culinary Arts certificate or diploma would be helpful as would a reference from a previous employer.
