Our automatics and glazing team is uniquely situated to be the leader in automatic door installation and service throughout Northern Ontario. We work with the manufacturers of most name brand automatic door entrance systems. We’re looking for two experienced automatic door technicians to join our growing team.
A Brief Job Summary
The position of automatic door technician and glazier is responsible for on-site installation and repair of automatic doors, manual doors and glass units in commercial, industrial, institutional and residential settings. As a member of our service team, you will provide high-quality customer service to our clients throughout the North. The candidate will perform fresh installations, preventative maintenance and emergency maintenance.

What Will You Work On?
- Installing, servicing, and repairing automatic door operators, doors, door hardware.
- Installing, servicing, and repairing various types of glass units.
- Conducting site visits and compiling the necessary information to assist the team in building competitive, winning quotes.
- Constantly updating your industry skills and knowledge, and not being afraid to bring your colleagues along for the ride.
- Educating clients on the proper use and care of their automatic doors, and helping them to extend the life of their investment in an automatic entrance system.
Who Are We Looking For?
- 3+ years of experience servicing automatic doors
- AAADM certification would be an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude and prior construction/maintenance experience
- Strong understanding of low voltage applications
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a solution provider
- Able to read basic blueprints, wiring schematics and product/installation specifications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to work collaboratively with other tradespeople (in-house and in the field)
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Must be capable of meeting the physical demands of this industry
- Eager to be constantly improving your knowledge and skills in this industry and always willing to share that knowledge with other members of the team
- Good oral and written communication skills along with good customer relations and customer service skills.
- Ability to complete all necessary paperwork and phone-based service application entries in a timely manner.
