Status: Permanent Part-time

University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Administrative Assistant III to join the Princess Margaret Cancer Care Network.

The Princess Margaret Cancer Care Network aspires to be a collective of local, regional, and national partners committed to facilitating collaborative clinical care, accelerating the adoption of new technologies, engaging more patients in research through improved access to clinical trials and advancing innovations which improve patient outcomes and provide confidence and comfort that the best care can be achieved close to home. In parallel, we will work together to deliver seamless, efficient, and timely navigation to access specialized care at Princess Margaret, when, and if, the need arises.

The Administrative Assistant III will exercise judgement, independence, and creative problem solving to provide complex administrative support to the Princess Margaret Cancer Care Network. The individual will assist with coordinating and maintaining calendars, organizing meetings and events, preparing documents such as CVs, annual reports and grant applications, organizing all aspects of travel, reconciling finances as well and managing expenses on a monthly basis, and performing other administrative duties consistent with the job classification as required. This individual will also assist with service billing, and tracking. It is imperative that the candidate has attention to detail and has experience in multi-tasking and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized post-secondary secretarial arts program at the diploma level, or recognized equivalent
  • Four (4) years related administrative support experience
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to produce high quality work
  • Ability to work well under pressure and use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of organizational/office practices, procedures and standards
  • Previous on-the job computer/word-processing, database and spreadsheet software experience, in a Microsoft Office environment, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, and internet searches
  • Experience working in a research environment

Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption on a medical ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
