*Summary*
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager. As a First Class Mechanic, the incumbent will inspect, maintain, repair, Forklifts/Lift Trucks in a safe matter, back up to battery position when required taking safety as the number one priority.

*Specific Responsibilities*
Perform minor and major repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance on Forklifts/Lift Trucks.
Maintain records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
Operate computers which control and monitor mechanical equipment.
Respond to emergency maintenance requests as required.
Perform assignments in general maintenance, as: changing batteries in the industrial lift equipment or building maintenance duties, house keeping, filing, and other general duties at our Distribution Centres.
The incumbent will provide their own basic tools of the trade and safety shoes.
Safety awareness is key and must adhere to safety policies and procedures.

*Qualifications*
Hold a current and valid Ontario Trades Certificate, recognized by Ontario College of Trades; Automotive Service Tech, or Truck and Coach Tech, or Powered Lift Truck Tech.
3 – 5 years trades experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferable.
Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic skills, work with hand and power tools.
Flexibility to work on various shifts (days, afternoons and nights) and weekends is a must
Previous computer experience; experience with preventative maintenance systems is an asset
